Re-formed 25th March 2007

 

The Dragon ARC has re-formed its Special Event Group. These meeting are open, and all DARC members are welcome to attend, particularly if they have some useful input to make.

The first meeting was held at qth gw3prl on Sunday 25/3.

Those present were: -

Danny, GW7BZR,  John, GW3GUX,  Tony, GW0LIS,  Rick, M3RWZ.

Martin, ‘PRL, chaired the meeting and all the special events on this years calendar were discussed.  It was agreed that a VHF/UHF input should be encouraged.

A number of matters arose which needed to be referred to the members at the next Club meeting, which takes place on 2/4.

The SEG agreed a station should be run at the summit, when the new café opens on Snowdon.  ? July ?

 

The SEG held a meeting at qth gw3prl on Wednesday 11/4. Requirements for the IMD stations were discussed and also other events up to NFD in June. The meeting clashed with RSGB SSB CC contest and several members were operating there.

 

There is to be another meeting of the SEG at qth ‘prl on Sunday 6.5.07 at 1pm.  This is to make arrangements for the Steam Rally 19-20/5/2007 

 

The above meeting took place and was a productive meeting, good progress being made on all forthcoming events.

The DARC club Meeting on the 2nd July will include a talk by Martin, GW3PRL on the practical aspects of Special Events.

 

There was a meeting at qth ‘prl 28/5 to consider NFD. Confirm use of field for mast only.

 

NFD great success, enjoyed by all, with BBQ after contest.

 

At AGM 5.11.07 the chairman made a point of thanking all members of the Special Events Group for their hard work.
