In
the May 2007 UHF contest - GW8IZR, listed as
Dragon ARC, came tenth
overall in the open section.
This was actually a single band single operator entry (70cm), but due to a late
rule change, we entered the open section which put us up against the big multi
operator portable stations, so quite pleased with the outcome.
Our best dx in the contest was EA1FDI/P at 1209Kms,
which is comparable with the best distances worked by the winning east coast
Equipment used was a Icom trx driving a GS23b cavity amplifier (400W) to 4 x 19
element yagis. + homebrew
mast head Gaasfet pre amp.
Paul.GW8IZR.
Congratulations,
on a FB result Paul. We need more members interested in life above 30
MHz. prl.
